KAD Foundation is local with a global focus in helping children and families. Some of our local programs include:
Adopt-A-Family Program: We provide programs and services to youth and families communities who have suffered unexpected traumas, disasters and are at-risk of school failure, abandonment, violence, abuse, and neglect. Provide utitilities, food, and rental, counseling, and job preparation / placement assistance.
Scholarship Program: This scholarship program was established to help families with educational expenses that have college bound students. Scholarships range from $500 to $2,500. These scholarships assist students that otherwise would not be able to financially attend school. The KAD Foundation board meets Bi-Annually to review applications, conduct interviews and award scholarships.
The KAD H.O.P.E. Program: A program for older Hispanic adults in Seminole County, Florida. The program is modeled after Enhance Wellness and Enhance Fitness programs, endorsed by the National Council on Aging. The program has a 10-year history of producing outstanding health outcomes. The program outcomes include increased physical activities, education on diet and eating habits, increased socialization, community resources for health and social support, and dissemination of materials and program information.
Children and Family Homes: Safe Haven homes are independent residential homes for children and families who are at serious risk of abandonment, abuse, neglect, and homelessness.
International Projects: KAD provides emergency medical supplies and equipment, food, books, educational materials, and clothing to International partners on a monthly basis.
Back to School Events: KAD partners with numerous organizations to provide backpacks and school supplies to children each year. In 2009, we provided backpacks filled with supplies, new clothing and shoes to over 19, 800 youth in Orlando, Florida; Los Angeles, CA, Shreveport, LA; New Orleans, LA; Raleigh, NC and Freeport, Bahamas. In 2010, it is our now continued goal to provide over 25,000 backpacks and school supplies to the youth and families in Central Florida, California, Louisiana, New Jersey, Missouri, Kansas, Texas, and North Carolina.
